Nine Burnt to Death In Ogun Bus Accident

No fewer than nine persons have been burnt to death, while three others sustained varying degrees of injuries in a commercial bus explosion which occurred at Ijebu Ife along the Ore-Ijebu Ode-Sagamu Road in Ogun State.
The Sector Commander, Federal Road Safety Corps, Ogun State Command, Clement Oladele, confirmed the incident.
He said it was a case of a fire outbreak involving a Toyota Hiace Commercial Bus while on motion with 19 passengers.
Mr Oladele stated that some passengers were rescued from the raging inferno, while others as of the time of this report are still trapped in the burning vehicle.
He also stated that the injured victims were rescued to a nearby hospital, for immediate medical attention.

FG targets N6bn from concessioning of 20 silos

ABUJA—THE Federal Government, yesterday, approved the concession of 20 Federal Government silos to private sector operators in a policy that will rake in N6 billion in 10 years. Buhari Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Chief Audu Ogbeh, disclosed this while briefing State House correspondents after the Federal Executive Council, FEC, meeting presided over by President Muhammadu Buhari at the Council Chamber, Presidential Villa, Abuja. Ogbeh said the Federal Government will retain six of the silos in its efforts to guarantee food security.
